FORT CARSON, Colo. — Members of F-Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, started their exercises Monday morning with the intent to “kill.”
Soldiers simulated the killing when members of their unit driving the M-113 were sited throughout the 24-hour exercise. The M-113s were the enemy for the scouts to seek and either call in for indirect fire or take them out with their tanks.
The scouts used Bradleys and were learning to maneuver and perform under warlike situations. The Abrams M1A1 tank was also used in the exercise by members of the platoon.
There are many people with different jobs during exercises such as these, one such person is Staff Sgt. Aldon Henrinckx.
Henrinckx is a tank commander for Fox Troop’s Fourth Platoon. “We perform with the whole company each (platoon) doing its own job, and we are self sufficient in doing so” Henrinckx said.
