FORT CARSON, Colo. — A water line repair project underway from January through March 2020, will affect traffic flow and require temporary, scheduled building water outages in the area.
Traffic impacts
The water line repair project requires closing the left/east lane of Barkeley Avenue between Hogan Street and Titus Boulevard to access the water lines. Work began Jan. 27, 2020, and is scheduled to finish March 31, 2020. Adverse weather conditions may delay project completion. Project updates will be published through Fort Carson channels.
Water outages
As part of the water line repair project, periodic water outages will be necessary for buildings in the 1900, 2000, 2100, 2200 and 2300 blocks of the “Banana Belt” area between Hogan Street and Titus Boulevard toward the end of February and beginning of March 2020.
The water outages will take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the workweek to minimize the impact of the water shut off. Occupants in buildings requiring water outages will be notified of the exact dates for the shut off in advance.
