Sgt. John Hampton
Meet Sgt. John Hampton, the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson Soldier of the Week. Hampton, a human resources NCO with 22nd Human Resource Company, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Inf. Div., is recognized for his leadership and tactical competence. His strength and resilience during the 4th SB Best Squad Competition was impeccable. Hampton stepped up to serve as the squad leader for the team after the previously appointed squad leader and alpha team leader both “succumbed” to injuries. He developed a strenuous, mental and physical training program to prepare his Soldiers for the competition. Always ready, his steadfast example inspired and motivated the team throughout the duration of the grueling, 24-hour contest. His motivation, resiliency and hard work ethic culminated in a first-place finish for the 22nd HRC and amongst all squads within the brigade. Steadfast and Loyal!
